Interested in farming, cooking, and helping your community? Looking to learn while also earning money? Registration open for our upcoming session.  Participation is limited to young adults aged 16-22.

Take Root is a hands-on program exploring our local food system. Students work with young farmers in Roanoke City, learning to grow food and planting fruit trees. This year, after training, participants will work with youth in the community, sharing what they have learned, and helping expose a new geneartion to the benefits of community farming.

As an added benefit, young adults earn a stipend as compensation for their time and energy planting food for their community.

Students who complete our program are better able to start jobs after high school. They are more capable leaders in their community. They also access a network of resources through our partners to help them achieve their goals.
